Coach in The Podcasting Workshop
When: Fall 2018 - Fall 2019 for three cohorts
Context: Immediately after I graduating in The Podcasting Workshop as a student, I was asked to be an inaugural coach by Seth Godin and Alexandra DiPalma in the Fall of 2018. For that session as a coach, it was me and two other coaches. I was invited to serve as a coach for the next two workshop sessions as well.
Primary responsibilities:
- provide emotional and technical support for 100s of students during the 7 week workshop
- community building through facilitating connection and conversation among students
- led weekly group calls to help students launch their podcast
Skills I learned:
- the ins and outs of Discourse, a technological platform used to host the workshop
- how to led Zoom calls with dozens of students
- communicate empathetically with students globally and across cultures
